Mark Van Staveren established Hastings Optical in 1988 to make a better life for his family and to serve and support his local community of Hastings Victoria.

In the beginning Mark started the business with a full lens manufacturing laboratory on site where he would grind and surface lenses which Mark would then edge the semi-finished Lenses to the high quality Optical / Sunglass frames of your choosing.

As the years have gone by we have changed the way we look and have moved away from Manufacturing on site and started using Optical lens manufacturing laboratories from all around the world, allowing us to access the latest’s lens technology for a much better viewing experience.

We also source Optical frames and Sunglasses from around the world and it has been a great experience to supply our customers with these products through our bricks and mortar store and we would now like to share these frames with a larger audience.

We are here to help people not only to look better but to see better as well.

Moving forward we want to expand our already great service to a much bigger audience and I think this website can help us do exactly that.
